A hotel project has landed in my lap recently. It is a beautiful old relic to be sure, and in great need of some tender loving care.
I have chosen light teal for the main upholstered pieces and carmine red and a rich coffee brown for the accents. The light teal chrysanthemum wallpaper will be smashing next to the dark old woods.
The lobby has great bones, marble floors, and original iron light fixtures. My scheme is built on the architecture first while bringing in new design elements such as current fabrics, furniture, and artwork.
I’ve included in this blog pictures of items we’re considering for the lobby. Like many of my projects, it has that mix of the old and the new. When combined in artful ways, mixing eras and styles will allow an interior to stay looking fresh much longer.
