Green juicing starting to come back into popularity around 20 years ago and is now quite mainstream. The benefits of green juicing include improved nutrition, enhanced digestion, increased energy levels, and better skin and hair.
If you haven’t tried it, consider adding weekly green juice batching to your health and wellness program.
And if you have any health concerns or issues at all, green juice is incredibly therapeutic for every single disease and condition you can think of.
Your appearance, meaning the color of your skin and the skin under your eyes and the health of your hair will generally reflect what’s going on internally. Your body will always give the nutrition to your organs first, before it gives your skin and hair any ‘love’.
So, if you’re not well inside, you won’t look well outside either. That’s why green juicing is so popular with people in the movie industry. They rely on their appearance to earn a living.
Green juice offers a convenient way to consume a large amount of nutrients in one serving. With a 24-ounce green juice, you can easily consume the equivalent of 2 to 3 large raw salads. This is especially helpful for those who don’t eat enough daily produce. But hint, you need those salads too. They give you the fiber you need.
You won’t find enzymes and micro-nutrients in cooked vegetables. You get them from fresh fruits, deep leafy greens and raw vegetables. Here again, green juicing is a great way to consume them in abundance.
Green vegetables are nutritional powerhouses, offering a high density of essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
Vitamins like A, C, and K are abundant in greens, each playing a crucial role in maintaining overall health. For instance, Vitamin A supports vision and immune function, Vitamin C boosts collagen production and protects against free radicals, and Vitamin K is vital for blood clotting and bone health.
In addition to vitamins, green vegetables are rich in minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and iron, which contribute to strong bones, muscle function, and oxygen transport in the blood.
Juicing green vegetables allows for quick and efficient absorption of these nutrients.
Green juices are a wonderful way to break your nighttime fast. They’re low-calorie, easily digested and nutrient-dense: everything that you need when you consume your first ‘food’ of the day.
By consuming a green juice midmorning, when you’re hungry and ready to break your fast, you extend the healing time your fast provides, and you can take in a significant number of ‘predigested’ vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants without adding many calories to your diet. This is wonderful for your stomach and your entire body.
This makes green juices an excellent choice for those looking to maintain or lose weight. Additionally, the nutrients in green juices can help curb food cravings and reduce overeating, making it easier to stick to a healthy eating plan.
In terms of boosting energy levels, green juices can provide a natural and sustained energy boost throughout your day. The nutrients found in green vegetables support metabolic functions and help the body convert food into energy more efficiently.
Unlike the temporary spike followed by a crash that comes from sugary or caffeinated drinks, the energy from green juices is steady and long-lasting. This makes them an excellent option for anyone looking to increase their vitality and overall energy levels.
Many green juice fans swear that green juice elevates your mood. I can personally attest to that!
There is a downside. Well, two downsides.
If you make your green juice with apples, as I do, the sugar can be a problem for diabetic and pre-diabetics. But if not, the pro’s by far outdo the cons. And you can always cut back on the apples, or use green apples instead of red.
The second con is that it does take tenacity to juice once a week. I have found ways to make it easier to follow through during busy times of the year such as getting the prep work done ahead of time.
And if you’re going to make them in advance, which I highly recommend you do, you’ll need to freeze the unused green juices. They don’t keep, not even for 30 minutes.
I freeze six in advance and set one out to thaw every morning at 8:00 to have it ready to eat as a slushie at 10:30. In summer it’s a little less thaw time.
Green juices are a valuable tool for weight management due to their low-calorie yet nutrient-dense nature. By consuming a green juice, you can intake a significant number of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants without adding many calories to your diet.

Green juices offer remarkable benefits for skin health, making them a popular choice among those seeking beautiful skin.
One of the key components in green juices is antioxidants, which play a crucial role in protecting the skin against aging. These powerful compounds help neutralize free radicals, which are unstable molecules that can damage skin cells and accelerate the aging process. It provides your skin with a steady supply of antioxidants that help maintain its elasticity and color.
In addition to antioxidants, green juices are also highly hydrating, which is essential for maintaining healthy skin.
The natural water content in green vegetables, combined with the vitamins and minerals they contain, supports overall skin hydration from the inside out. This leads to plumper, more supple complexion.
So, what’s the trick to making green juice so irresistible, that it’s worth the extra half hour a week to batch 6 of them? In two words, apples and lime. Or pears and lemon. Or apples and lemon.
In other words, sweet and acidity.
There is no way to give you a recipe for green juice because it’s hard to measure an apple or a head of romaine. Instead, just follow these guidelines and you’ll be alright.
For 1 weeks’ worth of 24-ounce green juices you need a juicer. I love my easy to clean, affordable Breville Compact Juice Fountain.
You also need some counter space. A few dish towels to cover your counter and counter appliances so you don’t make a mess. And you need six jars. I prefer marinara jars because Mason jars are too easily broken and can get expensive to replace.
6 to 8 heads of romaine
9 apples (I like Fuji)
5 limes
1 bundle of cilantro
1.5 heads lacinto kale, stems removed
A little broccoli
3 large cucumbers
