As you approach the year 2024, it’s time to start thinking about our health and wellness goals. One effective strategy to manage our time and achieve these goals is through time blocking. This method involves dedicating specific time slots for different activities throughout the day, ensuring that we stay focused and productive. Here are tips for time blocking and health & wellness goal setting for 2024.

The Importance of Goals and Time Blocking

Time blocking is a time management method that can help us prioritize our health and wellness goals. By allocating specific time slots for activities such as exercise, meal planning, and relaxation, you ensure that they’re not overlooked, or push backed.

How to Implement Time Blocking

  1. Identify Your Goals: The first step in time blocking is to identify your health and wellness goals for 2024. These could include losing weight, improving your diet, increasing your physical activity, or reducing stress. I recently added HIIT exercises to my existing routines. For 2024 I’m considering P-Volve equipment which is equipment that supports gentle, functional yet highly effective exercises.

  2. Allocate Time Slots: Once you have identified your own goals, allocate specific time slots in your daily schedule for activities that will help you achieve these goals. For example, you could block out 30 minutes each morning for exercise, or an hour on Sundays for meal planning.

  3. Stick to Your Schedule: The key to successful time blocking is consistency. Make sure to stick to your schedule, even when it feels difficult. Remember, the goal is to make these activities a regular part of your routine.

  4. Review and Adjust: Finally, regularly review your schedule and adjust as necessary. If you find that a certain time block isn’t working for you, don’t be afraid to move it around. The most important thing is that you’re making progress towards your goals.

Time blocking has been a huge game changer in my business and wellness goals. Confession, I’m kind of addicted to it.

Setting Health and Wellness Goals for 2024

When setting your health and wellness goals for 2024, consider the following tips:

  1. Be Specific: Instead of setting vague goals like “lose weight” or “eat healthier”, be specific. For example, aim to eat five servings of fruits and vegetables each day and cut back my wine consumption to one glass a week.

  2. Make it Measurable: Make sure your goals are measurable so that you can track your progress. This could mean recording your weight use or repetitions or keeping a food diary to monitor your diet.

  3. Ensure it’s Achievable: While it’s good to be ambitious, it’s also important to set goals that are realistic and achievable. Consider your current lifestyle and commitments and set goals that you can realistically meet. But push yourself too. Compete with yourself.

  4. Relevant Goals: Your goals should be relevant to your overall health and wellness objectives. If your main objective is to reduce stress, then setting a goal to run a marathon might not be the most relevant goal.

  5. Time-Bound: Finally, give your goals a timeframe. This creates a sense of urgency and can motivate you to stay on track.

Here’s a sample weekday time blocking schedule in a text format that you can copy and paste.

  • 6:00 – 7:00 AM: Wake up, morning routine. I like to study business courses.
  • 7:00 – 7:30 AM: Exercise (e.g., jogging, yoga, etc.) I love my stay bike.
  • 7:30 – 8:00 AM: Shower and get ready for the day
  • 8:00 – 8:30 AM: Make the bed
  • 8:30 – 12:00 PM: Office hours
  • 12:00 – 1:00 PM: Lunch break (preferably a balanced meal); walk the dog!
  • 1:00 – 5:00 PM: Office hours (with short breaks every hour)
  • 5:00 – 5:30 PM: Dinner
  • 7:00 PM: Exercise (e.g., gym, sports, yoga, etc.)
  • 8:00 – 9:00 PM: Relaxation activities (e.g., connect with loved ones, reading, music, etc.)
  • 9:30 get ready for bed, close up house.
  • 10:00 PM: Bedtime, read 10 minutes.

This is just a sample schedule. Feel free to adjust it based on your personal preferences and commitments. The key is to ensure that you’re dedicating specific time slots for your health and wellness activities.
